The PRISM architecture facilitates resilient and anonymous communication

Our approach, called PRISM

(PRivacy-preserving, Intrusion-resilient Secure Multiparty-computation) is a resilient architecture for anonymous communication. PRISM provides unlinkability by integrating mix-nets with onion routing, and it achieves compromise resilience by performing multi-party computation for privacy-preserving tasks. PRISM employs periodic, dynamic network reconfiguration to prevent the existence of long-term attack points. PRISM aims to support thousands of concurrent users with message delivery times measured in seconds, tolerating 20% compromise of backbone hosts.

RACE (Resilient Anonymous Communication for Everyone) www.darpa.mil/program/resilient-anonymous-communication-for-everyone is a DARPA program for resilient anonymous messaging. RACE seeks to provide point-to-point messaging with censorship-resilience and untraceability, even when subject to limited compromise of the network's participants and large scale, deep packet sniffing. Systems developed for race employ obfuscated communication links and cryptographic tools to enforce anonymity, and allow thousands of users to communicate anonymously.
